Anyone know what Ruger is manufacturing at their new plant in North Carolina?

I guess it has been up and running for a year or two.

Thanks.

Can't tell you of anything more than their AR-556.

They're not too far down the road from me - we've had a few folks in the local gun shops that work there and I've heard discussions about some models made at the plant, but I wasn't paying much attention.

One of the plant reps stopped by one of the shops and the owner showed him how he could make the forward assist screw up - evidently the rep carried the info back to the plant with him because the store owner said he never got another one on which he could duplicate the problem.

A former boyfriend of one of my daughters got a job at Ruger in NC. I'm just looking to see what Ruger firearms to avoid.:)-----Not really. The young man is quite capable and a good worker.

It is good to hear that Ruger is taking feedback from the field to heart.

Next time I'm out at the shop (probably tomorrow), I'll see if I can get a list of guns the folks at the shop know they're making.

I'm sure various Ruger plant employees have told them on numerous occasions!?

One of our local shop owners told me he had learned only 50% of the plant is in production - more machines on the way, and assuming demand continues, production will grow.

He said at one time the only thing made there was the AR-556, which he said he wishes they'd make more of, as he's having problems getting them.

I saw online where the following came from the Mayodan plant:
1. Anniversary edition 10/22.
2. American 22.
3. SR-22 with 4" barrel.

That makes at least 4 models coming out of Mayodan.

I'll have to check at shop #2 tomorrow - they have more traffic and probably a lot more folks that work at the plant coming thru.

I worked for a while at tissue converting plant (paper napkins and towels) starting up in an old textile mill. We occupied a few offices and a small part of the production floor. The rest of the plant was like a ghost town. Lots of room for the expansion though.

I'm sure the Ruger plant is similar as they are ramping up production. Space to expand easily is a Good Thing.

Besides the ex-boyfriend, my daughter has another friend that works at Ruger. The plant has apparently been a shot in the arm for that part of North Carolina.
