I have heard two different opinions concerning floating a bolt action rifle barrel for better performance. One gunsmith told me I should float the barrle back to the chamber and ensure good contact under the chamber itself. Another gentleman told me that Rugers need some pressure on the barrel at the front end of the stock. Any thoughts?
