Congrats to Ruger for correcting my Single Six issue promptly and at no cost. I bought a new Single Six .22 in January, but I didn't shoot it till a couple of weeks ago. I noticed that point-of-impact was to the left of point-of-aim.
When I tried to use my jeweler's screwdriver to adjust the windage on the rear sight, the screw would only turn clockwise (moving POI to the left even more). It would not turn counterclockwise at all. I tried a couple more times in the past week to turn it, but to no avail. I did succeed, though, in twisting the tip of the screwdriver.
I called Ruger this morning, and the company is sending me a new complete rear sight assembly. Once I install it and test it, then I'll send the old one back.
I'd much rather do it this way and swap the parts myself than go through the trouble of sending the whole gun back to them for a parts replacement. Meanwhile, a little Kentucky windage will do the trick.
