A friend wants to sell me a Ruger super single six but only has the magnum cylinder for it. The gun is in great shape but I really want to be able to shoot 22lr in it. Anyone know what a new 22lr cylinder from Ruger would cost and do you have to send them the gun?

Call Ruger, i'm pretty sure that it would have to be sent to them for fitting.

It will probably end up costing more money than just buying a gun with both cylinders.

Single Six models sell for roughly around $350 new around these parts. Find out what the replacement cylinder would cost over what he wants for the gun, and compare to what a new one with both cylinders included would cost you.

You can find used cylinders on Ebay all the time for under $50.00 and 9 out of 10 times it's a drop in fit. Ruger will charge you about that but you'll have to send in the gun which costs another almost $50.00.

Just bought a Brand new Single-Six with both cylinders for $319.00 and that's with California crappy prices.
