Ruger SP101 327 Federal Now Shipping

I bought a 4" SP101 during a time when 3" models weren't available, it's good to know the .327mag hasn't been 'dropped' and the 3" is being made again. Years ago during a backyard range session with the .44mag, I also brought the SP101 along, its muzzle blast was as loud, or louder, than the .44mag. :)

this website looks very sus, has anybody bought anything from them?
What looks suspect about it? As I mentioned in my OP, they are a good business to deal with. As good as it gets. I have ordered from them several times.

Here's a test that you can apply to any business to help determine if they are legit:

*Phone Number: Is there a phone number prominently displayed on their home page. Red Flag if there is not.

*Address: Do they have a physical address posted? If not Red Flag. If they do have an address, what does it look like on Google street view or satellite map? Red Flag if it doesn't look like a business.

*Inventory: Do they have a lot of hard to find stuff or too good to be true pricing? Red Flag if they do.

*Business History: When you Google the business name with the words review and complaint, what do you find? Little footprint or a lot of negative reviews or BBB complaints is a red flag.

*Payment Method: Crypto, Venmo, Pay Pal friends and family only? Red Flag.

*Site Language: Do you notice language errors or irregularities? Red Flag if there are errors and oddities.

They list their address and phone number on their site. It is accessed through the contact us tab at the top of their home page.

When you google the address, you see the business.

Their prices and in stock inventory are realistic.

They have a long history of positive google ratings. No BBB complaints that I could find. They also have a huge Facebook following and an active and realistic page.

They only take standard methods of payment. No Zelle, crypto crap.

Their are no irregularities with site language. In fact they go further than any other business I have seen at making customers aware of common ordering errors and giving customers as much useful info as they can.

Alright… it’s just kinda 1999 Block Style website. They should fix that, get way more business and less worry. They have a good ULR address.

But as I always say, To Each Their Own

there home page?!?!?!

After going thur there webstore… I kinda LIKE IT!!!! it’s very 90’s reto

Here you decide.

Here you decide.
That review is not for the Family Firearms out of Troy Alabama. As an aside giants like Midway and Buds guns rank 2.1 or lower on sitejabber.

In 299 Google reviews Family Firearms www.familyfirearms.com (not ffsales.com) has a 4.8 average rating.

I've got a 3" SP101 in 32H&R mag and 4.2" in 327. I shoot 32H&R 90% of the time. Nice to know they are making another run of them.

I am glad to see SP-101’s in .327 back in circulation! I picked up my 4.2” SP back at the beginning of 2023 and added 300 Starline cases that I scrounged up on various sites.

If sufficient reloading supplies and factory ammo gets produced to feed these newly available revolvers, new buyers will be very happy. :D

Here in Ca. ammo for .32 H&R or .327 FM on the shelves has been at zero for ages, so the only choice was high priced on line orders or loading my own. (Which I did using the few cases I had on hand.)

It took Starline until this September to make a run of cases, I bought 1,000 so I won’t get caught flat footed again. (They already appear to be sold out again!)

With the .32 Single Six, which started my .32 affair. 😇

Stay safe.

I’m gonng to join the .32 club one day!!

something modern and shoots ragged holes!

327 Fed Mag has some great potential but for my SP101 I’ve been loading ammunition to hot 32 H&R Mag levels in 327 Fed Mag cases.

These loads are a bit more controllable for in the SP101 and the Single Seven.

I have a Henry Rifle and a GP100 chambered in 327 Fed Mag and they are better suited to full power 327 Fed Mag.

I have one and I can't really understand the popularity of the .327FM caliber.

Mine isn't accurate with factory ammo and my lead reloads lead the barrel up something awful. I'm tired of scraping the lead out of the barrel with a machinist pick.
Doesn't matter who's bullets either, or whether they are coated or lubed with alox, or naked with lube groove.

I've tried a lot of different bullets in this thing and Fraulk sent me a bunch of different, quality brand bullets also. Always the same problem in varying degrees.

My .357 and 41 magnums are much more accurate with heavy loads then this thing will ever be.

My Grandchildren use it right now with reduced loads, when we go shooting, but when I move them into something else, the SP101 is going down the road.

Between the leading in the barrel and the cylinder always getting tight from the gas seal not sealing anything out, it's just too high maintenance.

Nice looking gun though, and the trigger is to die for. It will shoot my reduced reloads at 25 yds very accurately until it leads up in about 50 rounds.

I'll move them up to a 38 special or buy an old S&W 32 S&W Long for them to play with. They are not getting my 1947 hand ejector that's in pristine condition.
They need a small frame though.

You need one of those 'staple guns' we talked about. ;) Actually, .32 ACP/7.65 is pretty cool as well.

Danrab, thanks for that summary. I went whole hog, trying to get some Trailboss, and nearly got sucked in on an iffy site. Normally, I'll inquire online, even here. Got a green light on Everglades as a source for jacketed/plated bullets by doing just that.
Thanks again,
Moon

to each their own… but those Staple Gun are not real “Manly” looking. I have to look good shooting.

but… how much them Staple guns run?

It's nice Ruger makes .327 revolvers, but I am not a fan of the SP101. I'd rather they do a 3 inch LCRx, something people have been wanting for 10 years now.
