What is your favorite ammo for this:
1) For 50-100 round range practice.
2) For 'day defense'.
3) For 'night stand defense' were muzzle flash of .357 may blind you.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

In my SP101:
1) For 50-100 round range practice.
whatever I can find in stock
2) For 'day defense'.
buffalo bore 158 gr LSWCHP +P
3) For 'night stand defense' were muzzle flash of .357 may blind you.
buffalo bore 158 gr LSWCHP +P

:)

I roll load my own 125 JHP .357. I practice, plink and carry the same load. I don't see any reason to over think it.

1) For 50-100 round range practice.
I use 140 grain lead hollow points I load myself
2) For 'day defense'.
Speer Gold Dot 135 grain Short Barrel JHP
3) For 'night stand defense' were muzzle flash of .357 may blind you.
Speer Gold Dot 135 grain Short Barrel JHP

Speer says the Short Barrel load uses flash suppressant powder and is optimized for short barrels.
I think you would see a bit less muzzle flash but it's still a 357 out of a (in my case) 2 1/4" barrel.

I think they perform well in gel tests...

What is your favorite ammo for this:
1) For 50-100 round range practice.
4.6 gr W231 with 125 gr LRNFP
2) For 'day defense'.
6.0 gr SR 4756 with 125 XTP
3) For 'night stand defense' were (sic) muzzle flash of .357 may blind you.
Day defense round. I take the gun out of its holster and lay it down.

For me, the SP101 is too small and light weight for real bofo magnum loads. Otherwise, the bone bruise on my thumb can stand about two shots, and I'm done.
