Hello,

As many of us now know, the Ruger GP100 comes standard with Hogue grips. Out of curiousity, I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not Ruger plans on doing the same with the SP101.

I bought mine in 2006, and it has black rubber non finger groove grips with a hard plastic insert.

They aren't bad, but I'd prefer some thing just a bit softer, maybe some Pachmayrs.

I can't see why it would be a deal breaker. The Hogues are pretty cheap. Get an SP101 and buy a set.

I can see the argument against them for the SP101. They aren't the best grips to use for concealment. Kind of bulky and the rubber is sticky, grabbing clothing. I love mine for range use and nightstand duty though!

I've got some sp101s. Except 1 they all wear the rubber houge monogrips. One of them is on its 3rd set.

It's true that they can grab and ride up if you don't watch it. BUT:

I deal with that issue because I know that when I grab onto that gun wearing that grip I am in control with any 357 load that has any business being SAMMI legal.
