Put the houges on years ago when I bought my first SP101. The factory grip was too short, I couldn't stand my pinky under the grip. Worked wonderfully.
Then I saw some of those pretty badgers. So I tried them. Took 'em right back off. Grip angle was funny for me, and the 2 piece construction gave me a couple blood blisters when they shifted with heavy loads. Also they were slick enough that they were flat out squirrely with full house loads.
The rubber mono-grips now? Both my SPs wear 'em. The older of the 2 is on it's 3rd set. Control is there, grip angle is correct(for me anyway).
Pretty? nope.
Functional? Absolutely.
Just get a full size gun with some pretty grips for the barbecue duties.
