I got one from a sales incentive contest Ruger ran last year. It took me several months to get time to go shoot it, but it ran well... until I tried feeding it match ammo. It stovepiped several times on the match ammo, but ran well with ball ammo. 1911's just like 230 grain ball... it's what they were designed for, and don't slow down as long as that's what you use (unless they have a mechanical problem).
Everybody that's a 1911-nut at the shop "ooohhs" and "ahhhhs" when I wear it to work, but to tell the truth, I was a little disappointed in it's performance. It's still not completely broken in yet, so I'll reserve judgement until it's had enough rounds through it to have all the parts worn in and springs massaged into place.
I think the throat needs some polishing since it stovepiped the match rounds, but I'll see at some point and hopefully remember to report back...
