I know this is jumping the gun a bit, but what do you guys think about this new 1911 from the various articles in the gun rags and the internet stories. My dealer is taking orders for them and they have already received three in the past week. I want one! BTW, a call to Ruger this afternoon confirmed that this new Ruger will take the Colt and other after market magazines.
 
It should take most Series 70 parts since that is what they based it on. $799 retail, I wonder what it will really sell for. It is a great looking SS pistol, just a little out of my price range right now.
 
My LGS has a sign up at register area stating they are asking 629 for the Ruger. They have a waiting list, but I didn't ask how long it is. No guns received yet, but they hope to have one sometime this week for display purposes.
 
Just broke the cherry on mine with 100 quick rounds for lunch. 50 Blazer brass and 50 Win Ranger HP's. Shoots to POA at 10yards and feels really good. I think it needs a strip of grip tape on the front strap cuz its pretty smooth as is. No FTF/FTE's or any noticeable defects. It's a little tight and the mags need to be tapped in to be sure they lock. Good hard primer strikes and damn, I'm happy with it. Thats all!
