Hello Everbody,

I was wondering if a Ruger SR9 SR9C gun mat exists.

Before anyone asks, yes I did a google search.

It looks as though I may be forced to do a little art work in GIMP and make myself a custom place mat, although it wont be a foam backing but still....

This is what I came up with, I am going to see if Ruger will give me permission to get this printed on a neoprene laptop cover for personal use only.

Note: This is a low quality altered copy.

shopruger.com used to have one and i was looking around there today and it was no longer on the site, i guess i should of got it when i had the chance. i love the design you came up with and i do want an sr9c mat. if you get permission to use the image would you share it with other so we can make our own mats too or even possibly make them for others for a fee?

If I can get permission I would share the graphic with anyone that would want to use it for personal use only, but I REALLY want to get permission from Ruger -- I hope they respond to my request.

The only issue is finding a place that will make a real mat. I found several places that do custom place mats, but its thin and it doesn't have a foam backing.

I think I am going to get it printed on a 17" neoprene laptop cover, not only can it serve as a gun mat but also a place to slip the firearm and a few accessories when its not going to be on my hip.

If Ruger owns the copyright on the base image - you have no legal choice BUT to get their permission. Moving out without that permission would constitute copyright violation.

I know that, that is why I didn't put out good copy of the graphic I made. I just hope someone over their responds yes or no, I hope they say yes. I hope they see that I am taking the time to get permission -- my wife works for a printing company and could get this made in a heartbeat; however I am a chump who follows the law ;P

if you do get permission i would love the image. if you could either post here or send me a PM with their response and if its a yes a good copy of the image. that would be awesome of you. i would see about getting mine silk screened onto something like an oversize mouse pad if i can find one. you think the silk screening would be a good way of applying? i know someone who does this for a living so it would be quick and easy for me to get done.

Silk screen would work, you will need two colors and two silk screens on a black background. Your not going to get the faded gun metal effect on the SR9 lettering or on the oval around the ruger red eagle logo.

Thank you for writing to Ruger and asking our permission. As long as you use the Ruger logo for your personal use only, that would be fine.

I made a second graphic that I feel is better than the first one.

If anyone wants a copy just PM me and I will send you a link to the image. It's a 16.5MB PNG -- (Uncompressed)

(The attached image is low quality and reduced in size so I could post it to the board)

Before you get it printed you need to get permission from Ruger, just because they gave me permission -- it doesn't mean they gave you permission .

:)

i contacted gunmats.com and they said that they get alot of request for SR9 mats so it is likely that at some point they will be making one.
