Update

It's been too hot to want to shoot....

...but I got out again today.

No failures after the first two magazines. I have a couple of hundred rounds of different ammo through it.

I'm now carrying it.

Still performing flawlessly with different ammo.

It stays on my hip.

The guy behind the counter at the range now carries one, and there was someone next to me sighing in a laser sight on one yesterday.

I was SO on the fence about the SR9c when I was shopping for a subcompact 9mm the other day. The SR9c felt great in hand and was less expensive. However, my first handgun was the original SR9 and it suffered a badly peened barrel. I own a lot of Rugers, but that left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm also not a huge fan of the safety. I know I don't have to use it, but it's fairly easy to flip on by mistake while moving or holstering.

I really liked how my original SR9 shot, but I have been using Glocks for the last could of years and hand to go with the G26. Still, I'm sure the SR9c is a great gun. Lots of people love them. Just a tad big with a few features I don't find desirable for my intended purposes.

Sr40c

I have been thinking of one for my wife. She has wanted a 40 for a long time.
I was the smartie who told her years ago to wait. See if it hangs around and does not go the wau of the 41AE or 38/45 Yeah it was a long time ago.
So I put it off for her and then could not pass a Gock 27 for $400 out the door.
Well they are still here fourteen years later.
For some of the comments on the micro safety, well I fo rone would not use the safety but would go with a gun specific holster like I would for any "safe Action striker fired" gun.
The other option is a Kahr CW40 price is about the same. Maazines are both way too high at $30 plus each. I like the option of a 15 round mag in the SR40c plus the larger frame on the SR should lend itself to better hit probility.
But time will tell. I have to sell my Sig P230 before doing anything.
Then there is the Smith. ????
