Ruger surprise

I totally understand why someone would want a .357 carbine. The .357 out of a carbine/rifle is a really good round. It's low recoil, yet still powerful enough to take deer at reasonable distances.

I just wonder why a bolt? I understand bolt action rifles shooting rifle cartridges. I'm with the person who suggested it be in a semi-auto rifle. Now that would be great IMO. It just seems that if someone wants a .357 carbine, that a good marlin lever action would be better. Heck, you can even scope the lever actions if you're really wanting to. Plus the lever action holds 10 rounds of .357.

Oh well, I like rugers, so I hope I'm wrong and they sell a ton of these.

I like it ... sort of. Like the concept, but like my rifles in blue and walnut. Already have an 1894C in .357, but could see adding a 77/357. I'll bet it would make a great plinker loaded light ...

Personally, I don't share the attraction to the lever actions. I prefer detachable mags to tubes. The bolt gun is lighter, and potentially more accurate. I almost bought a Marlin in .357, because there wasn't a bolt gun offered. I'm glad I waited.

For a .357, I don't want an auto. I want to be able to recover all of my brass.
