Ruger tricked me!

And Ruger does not even manufacturer a semi-auto pistol in 40cal.
But Glock does.......and there are truckloads of used Law enforcement Glock 22's out there!
I'm just bummed...my original PC4 just went down in value today.

I don't mind Eights.
But I call 'em Thirty twos!;)

As far as a Roth handgun goes, it's so homely it's beautiful!
Not like the Ruger. Nearly perfection in carbine.

Save for not being a Fourty Five...

Yet.:)

(Did you hear me Ruger? Take my dern money already! I've sent like five E-mail s...:D)

The M-Lok handguard is interesting, but personally I'm holding out for a model with a pistol grip. I like the more traditional grip on bolt and lever actions, but I really prefer pistol grips on anything semi-auto if I can manage it.

I sent a lot of e-mails to "tell the CEO" about a 9mm revolver/range gun, never got a response...good luck with that.
Wait, I did get 1 response that he was "out of town"...like he answers those emails personally, yeh right:scrutiny:
:uhoh:

I don't know if he answers them personally, but yesterday I sent a message through "tell the CEO" and I explained that a lot of folks on forums and social media were disappointed that they didn't bring out a 10MM version. I noted in my message that HiPoint is the only maker that produces a non AR platform based 10MM PCC under $1,000 and that Ruger could really clean up with the product based on what I've seen, read and heard from other shooters. Here's the response I got (same day).

"Thank you for your "Tell the CEO" submission.

Given the tremendous popularity of the PC Carbine, you can guarantee that we are already working on new models and variations. As you may have already seen, we recently introduced a .40 S&W chambering, with plans to continue looking at other popular calibers. Additionally, you can expect to see more variations - like the free-float handguard, unique stock options and Distributor Exclusives. Thank you for your suggestion and stay tuned!

I wonder if they would consider selling a caliber change kit. A new barrel, and the floating bolt face should be able to get you from 9mm to .40. Add in a different magwell insert to go from 9mm or .40 to .45 or 10mm.

Maybe I'll ask the CEO if that's something they would consider, I've gotten responses from them before on the few questions I've submitted (One of which was about whether they would consider making a PCC again, the response told me to keep an eye out for announcements and the PC Carbine came out a month or two later).

I want to jump on the 10mm Auto band wagon right now.

Does anyone know if the barrel assembly is serialized and if Ruger has any intention of selling just the barrel assemblies? Could someone just buy a .40 S&W barrel assembly and convert their current PCC 9mm?

These are all areas that I am expecting the aftermarket to address, just as you would go with aftermarket parts to make most of these modifications to a 10/22. I think that some of the aftermarket companies can manage smaller production runs of parts, and are more prepared to support a wide range of different versions than Ruger is.

Of course, the aftermarket for 10/22 parts has had decades to evolve, so it may take a while for a similar variety of options to emerge for the PCC carbine. But the takedown format of the carbine really lends itself to aftermarket additions, and I am expecting to see some cool stuff sooner rather than later.

The serialized part is the receiver. The way they're designed, it's a possibility that they could sell caliber conversion kits with just the front end, a magwell and maybe a bolt. Maybe that was part of the reason for doing a takedown?

I've heard unofficially that the 9mm PC carbine was selling well.... I even purchased one last July and I like it. If the 9mm carbine is a good seller then it would make sense that Ruger begin offering some other pistol caliber options. Even if I had a choice I would have gotten the 9mm because I have lots of 9mm and it's more economical for general plinking and I can even reload for it if need be. Perhaps the OP could now sell his 9mm PC carbine and use the proceeds toward one of the new .40's.

i too hoppe for a 10mm... but even if ruger doesn't come out with one i don't imagine it will be too long before people start 'converting' their 40 s&w's... as long as the bolt has enough travel and the takedown barrel has enough meat to handle the pressure it shouldn't be more than lengthening the swapable magwell insert, reaming the chamber and installing a heavier recoil spring.

Anybody get there hands on the 40 cal version yet? Are they as reliable as the 9mm version? I really like that model with the aluminum front end, reminds me of a ppsh41.

Ruger made the most hideous rifle, even more so with that free float handguard, congrats..... Add 3 more pounds of tungsten, and make a 10mm that recoils like a 12GA, that would be cool.

Ruger is just going to wait on all who are inpatient to buy up their 40 cal carbines and then when you have had your fill, they will launch a 45 Colt Model just to keep you on your toes. Yes 45 Colt and not ACP.
