Hey All,
I've been sporting this Ruger Vaquero Sheriff 45LC model....
wanted to share my carry leather and Eagle Grips.

Full reviews to follow, when time allows, but for now, here are pics of my carry rig: Mernickle single action Highride holster. This can be worn both strong-side hip or cross draw.
I've worn it in both positions, and the cross draw works GREAT for driving while the strong side hip conceals AWESOME with an untucked shirt.

The grips are Eagle gunfighter Rosewood checkered. Fit and finish are outstanding, and with them installed, the gun just points and shoots MUCH better.

That is one of the sweetest looking CCW set-ups I have seen for a single action revolver.

Very nice wheelyfun, I'm looking forward to your forth coming write up. I've always liked those Merninickle holsters and thought about getting one. However i don't think the wife would be very happy with me if I did so right now:)

Very nice rig/setup - I have a Blackhawk with a 7.5" tube for hunting, but someday I hope to have a setup like this for general woodswalkin..

Is that an "old" model Vaquero or a New Model Vaquero? Did they make the in the old larger frames?

Very nice gun, grips, and leather BTW

Just goes to show that with the right leather, even a hogleg SA can be concealed pretty easily. I usually wear my 4 5/8" Vaquero in a cross draw just because it is some comfortable. All I did was modify a Tandy Leather kit I put together with a couple of keepers so that I could wear it low strong side for a quicker draw or high and tight weak-side for a concealed cross draw.

Love your set up for sure:)

Tennjed iirc it's the old model vaquero wheelys lgs bought it as part of a collection from a dude who worked for ruger I'm so jealous btw

Here's a newer Ruger .44 Special Sheriff's, in a Milt Sparks HSR, next to a 1911 for comparison. Rides nice and high for concealment, too.

Sharpdressedman. What kind and who made those grips on your 44 mag? They are beautiful

They are myrtle (mine is the .44 Special New Vaquero Sheriff's Model), and I got them off ebay. Forget the guys name, but I was able to send him my grip frame and he fit them to it. A guy named gooseman179 on ebay has some nice looking stuff right now. I did not see the guy that I used several years ago (I'd remember his name if I saw it).

Thanks for all the compliments! (of course, the compliments are for Mernickle leather, but hey.....I posted the pics!)

This rig has me wishing that we all carried big ol' hogleg revolvers still.....but for the most part, my Glock 26 gets the nod.

This rig works well for hiking, range work, and the occasional long drive (cross draw)

Bet that ,45 is a nice handling piece!
I have a 4 5/8" Stainless .357 Mag.
the Stainless is a touch heavier base metal.
The Barrel and chamber walls are much thicker making the revolver a bit heavyier. You get used to ir quickly!
