On today's show, Rush discussed the proposed OSHA rules targeting ammo/primers/powder. He covered the main points in the NRA release and called it "backdoor" gun control.

Rush 24/7 members can get the audio at his website after he goes off the air today.

wow. rush normally doesn't talk guns
Rush calls his show "event driven." He doesn't do "subjects." If it hits the news -- especially if it has "hang time" and has something to do with society, our rights, politics, that kind of thing, he'll comment on it.
The OSHA report on handling ammo is such a thing today.
So, that's how Rush glommed onto it. If gun related stuff were in the news more often, Rush would be on it as often.
Rush owns one rifle the NRA gave him a decade ago -- it's a flintlock. He isn't into guns personnally at all. I doubt he's shot the flintlock.
But he is good on 2A rights.

A friend of mine just informed me of the proposed regulations. I am glad to hear that Rush is on top of it. I hope it catches on with like minded media folks.

Action options in Activism. The best move is to go to OSHA's page for public comment on proposed regulatory changes and request an extension for 2 months of the public comment period. Make references to the impact on thousands of small businesses who have not had time to comment.

PROPOSED “SAFETY” REGULATIONS WOULD DRY UP AMMUNITION SALES
Vol. 14, No. 27 06/29/07

PROPOSED “SAFETY” REGULATIONS WOULD DRY UP AMMUNITION SALES

oshaThe Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has proposed new rules that would have a dramatic effect on the storage and transportation of ammunition and handloading components. The proposed rule indiscriminately treats ammunition, powder and primers as “explosives.”

The public comment period ends July 12. To file your own comment, or to learn more about the OSHA proposal, click here or go to http://www.regulations.gov/ and search for Docket Number OSHA-2007-0032”; you can read OSHA’s proposal and learn how to submit comments electronically, or by fax or mail.

Who is whinning? And what difference does it make if the man on the moon requested these regs it will decimate the gun industry and gun owners alike?

Rush is like Coulter, having him on my side doesn't strengthen my position any.

Rush, unlike Coulter, reaches 10 million people a day. His discussion of this topic helps us all greatly.

This brings to mind the quotation about broken clocks being correct twice a day.

But he is right here, and it's appreciated. I never thought I'd say something nice about Limbaugh.

You know I kind of think the productive thing to do might just be to get on the OSHA web site and make a public comment on the proposed rule.

How about you guys?

I was there, and expressed my opinion this afternoon.

I don't know that it will help but it's all we can do at this point.

My question. Who and what is really behind this?

I'll give you three guesses and they all start with a capitol D.
