Saw a Russian SKS at the LGS today. Matching numbers, 1953 mfg, very good condition, folding bayonet, stock in excellent shape. Price $450. This one had a flash hider or muzzle brake which appeared permanently attached to the barrel, which I don't see on the Russian SKS rifles listed on the auction web sites. So is this a rare variant owned by Khrushchev himself, or a frankengun? Thanks.

This might be off topic, but do you guys remember the department store Roses? They use to have the best surplus rifles in their firearms department. It was nothing to see SKS, Mauser(s), Enfield(s), among others. I bought a Romanian SKS at Roses for $145.00 back in 1992.
