Earlier this week I received one of Rusty's Rags pistol cloths to review (See thread http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=543395 ).
I decided to try it out on my daily carry gun. This 229 is open carried daily and had gotten to looking a bit dull.
We have probably all used those gray "silicon cloths" that have been around for years. I've never found them to do all that much, they dry out quickly and you have to do a lot of rubbing to do any good at all. Rusty's sheepskin rag easily gets into all the little grooves and applies an even coat of protectant with very little pressure. It's easy to recharge with additional fluid when needed. Following the application, a little bit of buffing with the included flannel cloth returned a nice sheen to my dry looking 229. I also used it on my K-Bar with nice results.
I am very pleased with this product. Thank you, Latham, for giving me the opportunity to check it out. I'm very likely to be purchasing additional units, I think they will make great low cost gifts for friends and family this Christmas.
(Forgot to take a "before" pic, but here's the after
