Here we go:
I wanted something different from the usual Hogue, they are perfect for my hands and the diamond pattern feels good.
I'm tempted to go the same way on my next purchase (S&W 19-5, 2.5" round butt).
I like them. Looks like a pretty decent hand-filling grip design. Most of my S&W revolvers wear Pachmayr grips. Not much for looks but they are comfortable to shoot with.
HA !! Thanks, this reminds me that I have a set of Herrit cocobolo grips buried away that I'd been meaning to install on my old (but pristine 1968) Model 10. Ima do that right now !!!
BTW, I think those VZ's look absolutely awesome on that pistol !!
I have had a set of VZ's on my RIA Match for five years and really like the product. Those look good on your 10-5. Much better than Hogue's. I think those would look sweet on a 586/686 too.
BTW, joem1945, did you say 258 grn SWC for a model 10? I don't think I've ever seen that heavy of a bullet in .38 spl.
Typo for sure.
Mine is point of aim / point of impact at 12 mtrs with the fiocchi 38spl / 158 grs I buy at the range.
I have an older MP built in 1943 that shoots the same way and actually has a nicer trigger
fausto, thanks for posting the revolver porn! Good looking grips and they look just right for the gun. The model 10 is like the girl next door. Nice looking, not flashy, comfortable to be around...
I have a 10-5 & a 10-6 and I do love those old guns.
they name them on their website "tactical diamonds" as opposite to the 320's that are plain G-10 with no pattern engraved.
Yeah, they offer no finger grooved ones for the square butts and no smooth ones for the round butts which I think is silly............
I find them very confortable for shooting DA 38's and I don't miss the rubber hogues at all.
I love the feel of the Houge rubber finger grooves, they fit like a glove, but they certainly leave a lot to be desired when it comes to aesthetics. If VZ offered a finger groove square butt model I would be all over them.
