S&w 1880 parts

were can i find parts for a S&W 1880. the revolver looks good
but the cylinder spins all the time when the hammer is down.
and the hammer wont cock all the time if i open it up ( its a top break )
it will work a few times wish i could post a pick

You could have a real problem:

First, you have to identify the model of your revolver, and also post the serial number (most likely stamped on the bottom of the butt).

New parts are next-to-impossible to find, so you are left with those salvaged from a junked gun. Since most of the critical parts were individually hand fitted to a particular revolver, salvaged parts sometimes won’t work, and can’t be made to work. Also depending on the model, even salvaged parts don’t come cheap.

And you’ll find that parts don’t simply drop in. Experience and skill are necessary to fit them, even under the best of circumstances.

But anyway, before reaching any conclusions, lets see what you have.
