I have a little $$ in the Gun fund and I what either a S&W 19 or to build a Mini Mauser in to a 98%er gun.
I can pick up a used S&W 19-3 or -4 for around $350.
I just found out today that Zevasta the company that makes Mini Mausers is partnered with Remington and that KBI will not be bringing them in by Charles Daly anymore. I would like to build a lightweight walking rifle that will be used for 98% of my shooting. It will be in 6.5 Grendel because it seems to have the ballistics that I want, with those long 65 gr solid copper bullets and the long range that this round seems to be capable of.

What should I do get the 19 or the Mini-mauser action for the later build

Don't you mean 140gr? I don't know of and 65gr solid copper bullets in 6.5mm.

Anyway, I really like the 6.5x55, and have used it to kill an elk. It is certainly a very capable round, and the Grendel can puch the bullets pretty close to the velocity of the Swede. That rifle would make a heck of a hunting rifle whether for deer, black bear, or even the elk you get in PA. Should also be pretty darn accurate off a bench.

I was thinking of trying to snag a couple of those actions, at least one lefty, so that I could eventually build a rifle for my wife. If I got another it would probably be to eventually build a 9.3x66 Sako rifle.

Voted for the Mini Mauser since you explained it at length, but gave no justification for the Mod.19... The Mauser actions are going to be hard to find soon enough, but you can find another Mod.19 when you save another $350.

Seems to me like you know what you want to do. :)
