I have a 1905 4th change and the trigger return spring has been shortened to make for a nice light DA trigger pull but it has a pushoff problem in SA mode. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for this. I measured the one from my 586 and it was 3/8 inch longer but much smaller in diameter.

Wow that was fast..... it is reduced with the spring from my 586 installed. So I am hoping that I could see what a stiffer / stronger spring will help. before I replace either the hammer or the trigger.

Try www.gunpartscorp.com. They have a separate section in the catalog for the older K frame guns. The part number should be VMP-49, Item number 358680. Price in my catalog is $2.60, plus S&H.

FWIW, I agree with Mike that a heavier rebound slide spring may not solve your problem. It sounds like whoever tried to lighten the trigger pull may also have messed with the single action sear or notch, not a good idea for the non-expert.

The upshot could be a new hammer and/or trigger as well.
