My 422 arrived and I must sy firs impression is good. Seems well made and is in great condition. Hope to shoot it this weekend. I also bought some unfinished wood grips for them and did a refinish job on the grips. They fit well in the hand. A little thicker than the factory plastic ones, but fits my hand better

Wow. I apologize for not checking this thread in a while. Great to see all the responses. I don't have time at the moment to respond to a couple of posts I've read. I'll get to them soon. In the meantime I'll just bump this, and continue praying that the supply of .22 ammo catches up with demand and prices return to normal.

I have added a couple more since posting last. I got my 4" 422 for $275, and also picked up a 2213. I have since installed the adjustable rear sight on my 6". All three are great shooters, but the 2213 is just so much fun with my silencer.

I bought my son a 422 back in '92 when he was 9...he's 31 now, and shoots steel with me twice a month. Here's that 422 today,

I would not be surprised if this pistol has 50,000 rounds through it...and likely a LOT more!

Hi new to the forum
Does anyone know where I can get the "stock" barrel nut for a 2206? Mine has the adapter on it and I think I'd like it better with just the nut.I've looked on Numrich,Midway,Brownells and ebay,,,no luck. Or does anyone know were I can get the tap, I can make my own.Its an odd size tap.
Thanks

Better late than never I guess, sorry for the late reply. Have you checked S&W? I'd check there first. Second you very well may find somebody willing to trade their stock piece for your adapter. Good Luck.

Do these guns have a rep for light primer strikes. Almost everything I have read about them has been good
Only if the firing pin is chipped or broken as far as I have seen. I have read a couple of folks that were having intermittent problem with light strikes and it turned out the pin was broken and the pieces would line up just right in some cases and misalign other times making the light strike. One would think a broken pin would not work at all, but apparently that isn't always the case.
Congrats on the new find.

Rob, would it be possible to see more pictures of that b square mount? It appears there is some sort of bar below the barrel frame.
I don't know Rob, but I made that weight from 303 stainless steel. It replaces the original spacer block in the scope mount. It adds significant weight and better balance to the set-up.

When I bought that pistol for my 9-year old son, one of it's attributes was its light weight...these days the extra weight makes it an almost recoiless shooter

Russ, my apologies for using the wrong name.

I didn't realize that mount used a spacer block, but it makes sense. Your custom stainless block is very creative and looks like very nice work. Thanks for posting the photos. If you like the extra weight, you'd probably love the 2206 and in particular the 2206TGT target variant. Drilled and tapped for optics, custom grips, Millet adj target sights, and all stainless construction.

One more question on the b-square mount. It appears to be high enough that you can field strip it without removing the mount. Is that correct? IMO that is a superior mount to the one that replaces one of the grips. (aimtech?)

You can field strip with the mount in place, and can still use the open sights
