I've been looking at them both for a while and I'm curious just how similar both guns are.
They aren't similar at all. The S&W is a plastic plinker. The High Standard is an all-metal, precision tool. So it depends on what kind of shooting you want to do. Personally, I shoot almost exclusively bullseye competition. A gun that won't group 2" at 50 yards just isn't competitive.
