I have a 1979 vintage 29-2 with a 8 3/8" barrel that I am trying to place a value on. It is in mint unfired condition with the box, papers and tools. Thanks in advance.

About $900 retail. Maybe $950 if it's really nice with all the doodads.

I recently saw a nickel one LNIB for $995 and the shop also had a blue one that was like new with no box for $895. Both M29-2s with 8 3/8" barrels.

I picked one up on gunbroker.com a few months back, not quite as perfect as yours, and certainly fired for $704.

I'd say $900 if you want to wait for a buyer who must have it, $750-800 to move it out faster, $700 it will grow legs and run away from home tomorrow.

Very Clean

Sold one [S&W 29-2 with 8-3/8" barrel], fired very little, had all paperwork
and tools; and in mahogany presentation case for $700, the week before
Christmas~!
