I picked up this like new S&W 3" 686-6 Plus today , I added some J Culina combat grips I had and now I have a sweet set-up.

Its the 3" barrel isn't it? Because, all 3" barrel revolvers are nice ones.

I just saw a 3 inch 686 in one of the many nearby LGSs. Not sure what dash it was or even if it was a plus or not. I was afraid if I touched it I would then be unable to go home without it.
I didn't even bother to check the price cause well.....I wouldn't have been able to walk away if was a deal.
Now I might have to go back.

Snake, my favorite handgun is my 686+ 3". I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine!

Of these three I enjoy shooting the 686 plus the most, especially with the 357 rounds.

Snake, very nice 686+ 3". I was still drooling over your new 586 classic, not to mention your Colts. You've got good taste in revolvers!
How would you compare the 3" GP100 against the Kimber version? I am thinking about selling one for the other.

In some ways, at least for me, they are about the same. Both have good sights and handle the 357 rounds well, with an edge to the Ruger. The Kimber has an excellent trigger in DA an SA. To me the big difference is in size. The Kimber is smaller, smoother, and built like a fine watch. I couldn’t decide either as you can see. Just for honesty sake, I bought the Ruger GP100 first but right before the Kimber DA/SA was announced. While waiting for the Kimber to arrive I bought the 686 plus for some long forgotten reason. I truly do like 3” barrel revolvers. I have two 22lr, two 32’s, two 327’s, and two 38 specials.

I'm a big fan of the "+" guns and the J Culina stocks really look good (and, more importantly, I imagine feel good too).

The L frames are a little big for me to try and conceal, preferring a K frame.
But I do love my 4" 686!
