Just to preface things a little, I have a 360 PD and love it.

Today I was purousing through BPS, looking at the handguns, and saw a S&W 360 (the .38 +P model). This model had a different grip than any other J frame that I've seen. It was still a rubber grip. But it had a covered backstrap and it was a little longer. Just long enough to get a pinky finger on it.

Does anyone know the make and model of this grip? Though I wouldn't trade my gun. And I don't find magnums unbearable. I do think this longer grip with the covered backstrap would make it a little more comfortable.

Thanks for any help,

Wyman

I believe it is S&W's Full Size J Frame Grip. It is listed in the accessories section of their web site. Bought one a couple of weeks ago for a 442 that I own. Has a backstrap cover and gives a full 3-finger hold without being too bulky.

RetDep is right, it is the Model 60 J frame grip. Also found on the 649.

by the way, what's BPS stand for?

The 442 has a concealed hammer and a higher backstrap. If open-back grips are used, you can obtain a higher grip on the gun, even getting that pinky on there. In turn, a high grip allows for a faster shot-to-shot recovery, due to the attenuated muzzle flip. (notice I did not say "less recoil")

The grips in the OP question are the Uncle Mike's design.

I have a 360J (.38spl +P), it came with two sets of grips - short boot grips and the longer "combat grips". Here's a pic from the S&W website:

S&W sells this grip on their website for $27.75, it's very similar (actually looks nicer than the other) and has the S&W logo on it. Here's the link - http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/...&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=46303&training=
