Hi. CDNN has a "first edition " Bodyguard snubbie WITH a laser sight ("Insight") in .38 Special. For $399.99.

They say it's "below cost." Sounds like a good deal to me, considering the laser sight. What do you guys think? Really below cost? Thanks - Jim

Well, .38 Bodyguards are out of stock at Buds for $436.

I thought the First Editions only came in boxed sets of the .380 pistol & .38 revolver?

I don't know, rc. It says that it has "special engraving", whatever that means. It doesn't say that they're new revolvers, but I'm presuming they are. I don't know much about the Bodyguard, but a new S&W .38 WITH a laser sight seems like an excellent deal at that price.

I'll call them for more info.

The ''new'' Bodyguard revolver is, yucky. This isn't a, new S&W vs. an old S&W argument. I just don't like it. Looks or handling.
The .380's not bad though. Excellent intergration of a laser. Needs an easier to operate thumb safety. Just not my ''cup of tea'' though.
But, the .38 Bodyguard, makes the LCR look handsome.

If I didn't already have a no-lock M442 with Rosewood grips that I just love to carry I would consider buying a S&W Bodyguard 38. It's not all that bad looking, it's just different...

I think it would not be so bad if the laser was not on it. Although it has me wondering why S&W decided to make the cylinder rotate the oppostie way as all other S&W revolvers. It rotates like a Colt, and the cylinder release is ambi over where the hammer would be, instead of on the left side like all the others.
I did hear a rumor on the S&W forum that they are supposed to come out with a 9mm BodyGuard revolver sometime this year, now that I would want to try out! YMMV.
