S&W 4006 and 5906 compatible

Could you swap the barrel out of a 4006 and shoot 40 S&W out of a 5906? What about magazines?

While I am being imaginative what about 4506 45 acp?

I suspect the answers will be NO at the politest and HA HA HA at the worst but it would be a cool thing like you can do with glocks and czs.

Cannot be done. Some like caliber S&W slides can be interchanged, but not different calibers.

Mags, yes but with some problems, and at how inexpensive spares are, no reason not to use the correct ones, then you don't have to worry about feeding issues. As for size, don't know, but usually it's a .40 that can be switched down, as for .45, the frames etc. are completely different, at least with most guns, so NO....
