If anybody is looking for a new NO LOCK 442 Buck's Gun Rack in Daytona has one as of this afternoon. They are asking $480.00. Not real bad. I paid $430.00 for mine several months ago. I was in a shop in West Palm Beach yesterday and all their x42,s were $770.00!! They all had the stupid lock to boot. Florida Gun Exchange is at $450.00 now but had none without the lock.

I have two J frame Centennials with locks. Neither have had lockups or FTFs in three years. Are they ugly yes otherwise NBD.

GEEZ!! This wasn't supposed to be internal lock thing. I know some folks out there want a no lock S&W. I, personally, hate the lock and won't buy one with it. Not really a dependability issue, I just don't like them. Period. I just wanted to let the nice folks here know. Hopefully someone near Daytona caught my post and is now the happy owner of a NO LOCK 442.

I don't like the lock because it is completely pointless. It does nothing to aid in my ability to carry or shoot it safely.
What it does do is add parts that can malfunction causing a failure to fire. I don't like having extra parts in my guns just because.
That's why I took a $200 hit yesterday when I traded my 642-2 in for a 642 without a lock.
Remember the KISS principle. Keep it simple stupid!!!
