I recently ended my love / hate relationship with my Kimber 10mm and traded it in on a new Smith 610 10mm w/ the 6.5" barrel. :D So, of course, I stopped by the range on the way home!

Over the chronograph, the 610 put 175 grain (factory) Silvertips downrange at the same velocity as the kimber- in the low 1300s. Must be a faster powder than what I use because..

My handloads consisting of AA9 & 180gr XTP were pushed downrange at around 1325 fps, up from the 1260 I got with the same loads from the Kimber. I'll take it!

So, I think I'll tweak my load a little bit. The question is, what do you guys that load for a 610 set your OAL to? Plenty of room in there!

I load all my 10mm loads the same, 1.260", for my pistols and my Model 610. I average about 60 to 75 fps more from the 610 in velocity over my pistols with my handloads, using either Blue Dot or Winchester 571.

Hope this helps.

Fred
