Made the pawn shop rounds last week and found a wish list item.

Appeared be fired very little. I gave it a checkout and everything was fine except for a bit of hesitation on the very last part of cylinder rotation before engaging the bolt. I knew I could fix that.

It came with original Pachmayr grips, box, unopened tools, unopened moon clips and papers. After a bit of haggling we settled on $950.

Got it home, gave it a good cleaning and addressed the lockup issue and changed the grips. I don’t’ care for the feel or fit of the Pachmayrs.

Hopefully It’s going out for a test drive tomorrow.

Here’s a pic of the new family member.

Nice find! Looks to be in great condition too. Not real crazy about the the Pachmayr grips either but that's an easy fix. Looking forward to hearing about your first range trip.

Congratulations on being able to scratch one of your wish list. I would change out those pachmayr in a heartbeat also. That should be an awesome shooter.

Now you are going to get addicted. 625 is one of my favorite guns. Light loaded it's easy to shoot. With Stout loads you are able to shoot USPSA major with no troubles.

I love the accuracy of m 625.

The forerunner of the 625-8 or maybe better known as the JM 625.

I have 625-8, my favorite revolver. I shoot a lot of 45 acp, my favorite cartridge so it gets a lot of use.

A lot of people miss out because they don't like moon clips but I'm a convert. This is the perfect big bore revolver IMO. I've never had a desire to buy another target gun because I think I would be disappointed.

They're nice. I have the same one - a little longer barrel with same "Model of 1989." But my FP is not on the hammer. With 45 Auto Rim handloads, it does groups like that at 25 yds. rested.

Well done! These (especially in 4") are getting hard to find. You paid fair market. In 2 years it'll be worth $1,100.00 I have a 5", it's a dream to shoot.

Where else can you buy something, use it, keep it clean, and in 2 years sell it @ a profit, or @ least break even?
