Been wanting a S&W 625 in 4" almost impossible to find a used one locally but a -2 in 5" has become available has a few small blems that I can see in the pics with the bead blast finish can't really be blended or repaired.

This is the laser etched model of 1989 anyone that currently or has owned one in the past care to give your opinions on these guns I have read they generally are very accurate the price is firm at $750.00

I have a 625-6 with 5" barrel and it is a tack driver. Prior to the 625 and I have owned several model 25s. All have been excellent out the box. You can always have the gun bead blasted to remove the blems but the laser etched engraving will be partially destroyed. Based on your description, I think the gun is over priced.

I have two of these fine revolvers, both 5". They are outstanding guns, but I agree with BYJ04 that $750 is too much in today's market.

Good point, bigtubby. If you do end up paying the price, you won't regret the quality or accuracy of the S&W Model 625-2 revolver.

I have one and its a great gun. $750 would have been too high 4 or 5 years ago. But that seems to be the going rate in 2012. The $800 you see on gunbroker? add another $100 to that once its shipped, transferred, and the aggravation factor possible with a gun that you have not seen or handled, and the possibility of having to pay to ship it back.

I could get a brand new 625 PC gun for $800.00 OTD so kind of on the fence I have heard that some of the new Smith's have some fit & finish problems I realize they have a lifetime service policy but wouldn't be real anxious to send a new gun back. And it will have the IL and frame mounted firing pin. Does anyone know for sure if the PC guns have forged parts?

bigtubby,
I would not be concerned with the current production S&W revolvers. I have shot more than 10,000 runds through my 627 PC and a felow shooter has two 627's chambered in 38 Super which have almost 20,000 rounds through each of them without any problems with gthe internal lock.

I always remove the IL on the guns that have them and have a 627PC as well one of my favorite shooters, I will probably just get the new 625 PC just hope the barrel is on straight!!
