I called S&W today twice, both people in the waranty dept. were very curteous and helpfull.
1st call;
Guy was familiar with problem of chrome flaking off the hammer on 625JM. Sending me a shipping label. Did not get his name and had to cut the call short.
2nd call;
I asked if they were going to replace the hammer with the same part or if they had a fix. This gentleman had no clue what I was talking about and strangely niether did anybody else there. Upon explaining the issue to him he was completely understanding and said to include a note requesting a "color case hardened hammer" in lieu of the standard chromed one.
Once again, it has been a good experience so far.
