Are there any major differences in overall quality and action components, and overall operation between the S&W 627 V-Comp (#170237) and S&W 627 PC (#170210)?

I was looking to purchase a V-Comp but no one seems to have them anymore. I really like the V-Comp's barrel and satin finish. S&W said they make the V-Comp solely for RSR. http://www.rsrgroup.com/index.php

No more orders have been placed by RSR, but S&W said I should wait until March 2008 when RSR usually places their orders.

What do you think?

Since you are going to be shellin' out the dough, you should get what you want. But I will tell you the v-comps are hard to find. You might find one used, but they are commanding a premium price.

The regular 627 is a fantastic revolver. You won't be disappionted with either.

My personal preference is for the regular 627-5PC. It is a magnificent revo, but it is just my personal preference.

If you have trouble deciding, buy both.

I have both and like the standard 627 better. I like the balance and the front gold dot sight. The comp is cool but prefer the other more. :D

I'm drooling here mbkmkk. Beatiful 627's, lovin that V-Comp with heads up dot.

Have you been able to find a holster for that setup?

What about V-comps with special production numbers? :neener:

S&W does a special production run for guns given away at the International Revolver Championship and I that is where I picked mine up.
