Here's a question for S&W revolver experts. I bought a brand new, no lock, 642. It was just delivered to the gun store when I pounced on it. It's never been fired, dropped, or snapped open/closed. I didn't notice it at the time, but there is a slight gap where the crane meets the frame. I checked to make sure everything locks up and it does. There is no cylinder wiggle and timing is spot on. The bore lines up with all five chambers.
Is this gap something to worry about? I've noticed other revolvers with no gap whatsoever. Is this not unusual for a brand new S&W? Does anyone else have new or lightly used revolvers with a gap like mine? Here is a photo.
Thanks for any input!
