Oh Hi Oh
Aside from 3 ounces and $10 or $20, what are the practical differences between a snubby S&W 686 (6-round model) and a snubby model 66? I have not had a chance to compare the 2 since the local gun store does not have either at them moment. Only been able to compare through specifications and pictures. The 686 looks a little "beefier".

Thanks

I posted/searched similar threads and from what I have gathered, unless you are going to shoot the full house .357mag loads ALL the time, then the 66 will hold up just fine. Otherwise get the 686 for a little more reinforced frame. 66 is the K-frame, and 686 is the L-frame if I am not mistaken, but I believe the grips are roughly the same size. I have only shot the 19 (blue 66) 4" barrel, but the balance was great and my perceived recoil with medium .357mag loads was minimal. Hope this helps a bit. I am just dipping my toes in the revolver waters, but I love to shoot them.
