I remember hearing awhile back that the S&W PC had a 9mm cylinder availabler for j frames, but cannot locate anything on the web sight. If such an item exists, I would like to see about getting one for my 642. Any help would be greatly appreciated, if someone could point me in a direction.

Never heard of it. There was one 942 made but the gun was never in production. Recently there was a flurry about an Sc 638 but I haven't heard more about.

With Taurus having a line of 9mm revolvers, it would be nice.

The 940s were on the heavy side being SS.

I purchased a 940 a couple of months back and really love it. A couple of the shooters in our IDPA club have had their 940s reamed out to .38 super which makes it one heck of a nice carry gun, even if it is heavier than an alloy frame. I am thinking about the conversion myself as it can still be used for 9mm. Nice gun but hard to find.

I have had a 940 for a year and it is a great gun. I have thought about getting a 940 cyl from S&W parts and fitting it to my Mod 60-4, but the price is about $139. The 940 is not really a heavy gun and it fits nicely in baggy pants pockets and tucks very nicely IWB.

I tried one of the 9mm cylinders. It was too long for an old style frame and too short for the new style 640 I wanted to use it in. Had to send it back.
