People are not convicted of anything on the basis of internet posts.

So you would believe them if they were in court, but not elsewhere?

What exactly would it take for you to believe that mechanical devices can fail?

I guess our perpectives are different. I work in a field where making things more complicated than they have to be costs people their lives. So I am a firm believer in a keeping things simple. For sure, the pre-lock S&W's will never have lock failure. It is a variable that does not have to be in the equation.

I know this, if anything else, I prefer the non-lock S&W due to the looks, let alone the minor chance that it could fail. (One reason why I use revolvers is that I find them more reliable then Autoloaders). Never say never, but all things being equal, I buying the one without the lock.

"all things being equal, I buying the one without the lock."

And that's part of the reason I won't buy one with the lock.
I tend to sell/trade more than most people and the resale value is a big thing to me.
