Hi. New member here. Did not see a classified section so I'm here.

I'm with the Orange County Sheriff's Office in Florida. We used to be issued S&W M66 4" as late as the 1980's. Now, we are issued glocks.

I am looking for subject revolver with my agency's markings.

I currently own M66 4" no dash, M60-15 3" and M642 snub centennial. As personal weapons, I've own Glock 19 and Springfield XD40 4" service pistol.

Greeting's Carlos

and welcome aboard, my friend. I just briefly searched
The Standard Catalog Of Smith & Wesson 2nd
edition by Supica & Nahas; and as of now, I haven't
turned up specific's pertaining to your agency's model
66? I will keep digging for more information, and try
to get back with you. Pass the word around within
your department that we are always glad you LEO's
share your thought's and opinion's with us here at
THR!

Maybe some other THR member will stop by in a second,
and help us out?

Welcome Silverstar. I'm an officer here in Idaho - a medium size department just outside of Boise. Though the department is contemplating going to a general issue handgun (probably Glock) as of now we are allowed to carry our own as long as it's 9mm, 40, or 45 acp. I think you'll find this site can be alot of fun. There are alot of folks who post here with a tremendous amount of firearms knowledge. Very good chance if you have any questions about firearms you'll get more then one answer. Enjoy.

Thank you all for the info. As of yet, no luck with other members of my agency. I'm planning on stopping by our supply and see what they tell me. Who knows, maybe they still have a M66 laying around gathering dust. Within the past 24 months we have switched from Berretas to Glocks and we had a chance to buy out our Berretas for $200.00.

Carlos, haunt the gun shows in your area. I am sure one will show up. Another option is to have your local gun shop look for one or find out who your department sold the M66s to and look in that area. This should be a cup of tea for a policeman with detective skills. Regards, Richard :D
