Ask him if he knows Marcus.
Marcus Registradus...
He built all the "Cavalry and Tank Guns".
Todd.

That just gave me a great laugh. Thanks.

I think the CTG guns were issued to Marines in tanks as the Corpsman Tanker's Gun?

I think that could be a war relic you picked up there!

Some M-60-4's, like this one, have flash chromed hammers and triggers. Others from a different production run have color casehardened parts.

These are superb small trail guns for the backpacker and hiker and good small defense guns.

I guess that I'm not the only one that received bad information on my S&W MOD 60. I found this ad at "Gun Auction.com" site dated 2012. Model: Model 60-4, .38 “Chiefs Special” Stainless Target Model, and it sold for 489.00. If it didn't shoot so well, maybe?
I agree with GARY A. as I have misspoke or been wrong about something in my 52 years, and I'm always learning something new such as what I have learned at this forum.
Now I'm thinking about having a flash/gas dispersement activator installed. ( since someone took a grinder to my uber cool tactical flashlight/laser mount)

Just as an aside, it always baffled me that they put adjustable sights on the 3" model 60, when the similar bbl length K frames all got fixed sights.
I think a 3" model 60 with fixed sights would be just about perfect.... which is why I got the 3" SP101 when that time came.

My take on it was it was a larger caliber .22 kit gun for the outdoorsman where adjustable sights are desirable for longer range accuracy.

Whereas the shorter K-Frames were cops combat guns.

That's what I used mine for anyway.

CTGE=Custom Terrorist Grounding Equipment. Harrington & Richardson was Smith & Western's govt. /Special Forces contract division. They are out of business now and those model's sell for four times their value. Ask any dealer at a gun show.

The 60-4 has a wonderful heft and balance for a small revolver. The full underlug keeps the front sight very steady, but at only 3" long it never feels muzzle-heavy. The improved sights allow the shooter to achieve an accuracy with the 60-4 that most J-frames could not match. I get results similar to a 4" K-frame in a package much smaller and lighter. That's what makes it such a good trail or kit gun.

It was a revolver from the Counter Terrorism Group.

They would go up to the counter at the LGS and terrorize the customers with incorrect information.

Their cover was usually that they were a brand-new eemployee.

Mag=Magnesium frame.;)

ACP Authentic Cop Protector.;)

And, no, I haven't made the rookie mistakes made by LGS counter monkeys.
I take the time to learn about these things before speaking of them.
If I don't know, I will admit I don't know. Then, I'll work on learning all I can about them.
It reminds me of people who grossly misspell a company's name when it's clearly stamped, engraved, or printed on the item, right in front of their eyes (Pachmayer, Styer, Steyer, Hornaday, Horndaddy, etc. grrrrrrrrr)

The internet was a much better place when the functionally illiterate were not on it.
