S&W Model 10-7 jamming

I recently acquired this revolver. Excellent condition with a faint turn line.
It had been sitting for a long time, hardly used so it looked pretty dry. Not wanting to take the slide plate off, I removed the stocks and sprayed oil up into the action. To disburse the oil around I was holding the gun upside down while pulling the trigger double action.

Suddenly everything locked up!! I couldn't pull the trigger, cock the hammer, or rotate the cylinder. After wiggling the parts the "jam" released. After a few more trigger pulls it did it again.

I found two "shiny" rub marks on the ratchet where the hand engages. They look like the hand had really dragged hard on the metal. One of them had a slight burr on the face. The hand appears normal.

I've shot the gun and have dry fired over a hundred times since the incident with no repeat of the incident.

I have watched and studied Youtube videos of how the internal parts work, but I just cannot figure out what caused the jam.

Any ideas what caused it? Should I worry about the marks and burr on the ratchet? Could it happen again?

Sounds like the hand overrode the ratchet -- maybe the cylinder pin was gummed up and resisted turning enough to make that happen.

But we might know more if you could post pictures.
