I find it saddening when someone sells their fathers guns especially these fine examples of 50s S&W quality

A quick question.

Regarding barrel length. Is this measured from the cylinder gap to the muzzle?

P95, I thought that was the case. Guess now I need to send a letter off to Smith and Wesson as I have a 4 screw 5" model 27.

Dave 5539 if the frame is NOT marked Model 27 then it was made in late 1956 or early 1957.

If the frame IS stamped Model 27 then it was made between 1957 and 1960

If the frame is stamped 27-1 then it was made in 1960 or 1961.

In any event, those 5" models are SWEET!
