S&W Model 36 Date of Manufacture?

Looking at a Model 36 ser. no. 2946XX and someone tell me the date of manufacture. Thank you very much.

Well, really its hard to tell? Cuz 2946XX would fall between
1957 and 1962; with 1962 being more than likely. Here is
the breakdown for future reference:

1957 serial #'s ran from 117770 to and including 125000

1962 serial # 295000*

*FootNote- this is the only serial information given for 1962.
And these were classified as "early J-frame model's".

You might wish to contact Mr. Roy Jinks, the S&W historian
and for a small fee (?) he can bring you up to snuff on the
exact time frame.
