I have a S&W Model 48-4 .22 mag. I clean it well, then after 6 rounds the cylinder won't accept cartridges smoothly. They are hard to load. I don't want to force them in so I quit. The cylinders are gunked up with what looks like unburned powder. I clean it and the new shells seat easily. I am using Remington shells. Is it the shells? Any recommendations for a better .22 mag shell that might eliminate this issue? The cylinder locks up well.
Also anyone have info on hand showing the date of mfg. Model 48-4. 96K5XXX
Thanks
