Does anyone know if there are speedloaders on the market for the S&W Model 500? I haven't been able to find any.

You can fire 5 shots from a .500 S&W and be in shape to fire five more without two weeks of R&R? Wow, now there is a real man!

I don't quite know how to answer your question, other than to say I've never seen one. I'm not saying you don't have every right to have one, I'm just trying to imagine a scenario when you need to quickly reload that baby... ;)

Ricochet6826,

Even when I shoot my NORMAL ;) S&W's at the range I use speed loaders. It's just easier to handle the big nob on the speed loader than 6 smaller objects.

However I haven't seen any speedloaders advertised for the 500s either. Have you tried HKs web site?

Joe

Well, you have to handle 'em individually at SOME point, right? I mean, when do you load the speedloader?

Gotta say, I have a hard time seein' the point unless you're gonna shoot IDPA with it--which you definitely should!

Joined this discussion before I noticed the date, but had to chime in. I’ve looked for a 500 S & W speed loader too, but then realized when I shot the pistol for the first time; it doesn’t really matter if you hit the target at all! If you don’t actually hit the target, you’ll incinerate it. I lit my 500 S&W off at a gun range once, and was promptly asked to leave, as the individuals on the range to my right and left didn’t like the flames in their face. I have in fact fired this pistol as fast as I could pull the trigger, and hit a bucket 3 times out of 5, 25 feet out. It felt like I got kicked in the face each time I pulled the trigger. There’s some really neat hot rounds out there for the 500!

A speedloader??? LOL!!!

With a 500, you have 5 rounds. One to do the job and the other 4 for added weight to help 'control' recoil.

:)

No I have never seen one and I looked myself. I was told they would be to big anyways.

Now after 4 plus years of shooting the 500 Mag, I don't see a need for a speed loader.

I thought I needed one for pin shoots, but then I brought my .500 to a pin shoot and was asked to put it away after the first heat.
