Any way to dress up the sights on a standard, fixed-sight, topstrap/post arrangement?

Colored inlays, etc.? Please describe if you've done this. A pic would be great.

Thanks!

I bought a 3" M65 from an LEO friend of mine. It was in nearly new condition, except they painted the rear face of the front sight with red fingernail polish. By way of comparison, I also have a bone stock fixed-sight M64, essentially the same gun as the M65, and I find the sight picture on the M65 noticeably easier and quicker to achieve.

I have a 3" Model 65. I first applied a base coat of white enamel paint to the back of the front sight. After this dried, I applied a coat of orange enamel paint. It works very well for me.

I modified my rare S&W 3" Model 66 and my standard 2 1/" Model 66 front sights by removing the red insert and installing a black insert.

I then cut a very shallow, oval-shaped hole in the face of the insert and filled it with gloss white paint.
When viewed from the rear, the oval-shaped white dot appears to be a round dot.

This can also be done with most any S&W front sight, and offers a more visible sight.

My eyes are nearly 66

years old so I put some bright, rich-colored yellow paint on the sights of my revolvers which includes a blued Model 10 and a nickel Model 21-4 classic. Helps me a lot and the paint can be taken off with a bit of solvent with no damage.
