My "must have one day" firearm is the original (pre lock) S&W PC 627 snub nose 8 round 357 like the one Eastwood used in that Blood work movie.

I understand only about 300 or so of these wheel guns were made.

Anyone know the current value of this firearm in "like new" condition with the PC aluminum case and papers?

My gun shop told me they MAY be able to get one in the near future, however I don't know the proper value of this gun.

Any info on this firearm is greatly appreciated.

Thanks .........

The original 2 5/8" PC627 x8 was offered as the 'Ultimate Defense Revolver' when made in 1999. A fluted cylinder variant of the poor seller was used in the 2002 Eastwood movie 'Blood Work', after which a bit of a cult following developed - despite Eastwood's less than stellar example of marksmanship with it. By 2009, gun auction sites had eased north of $3k on LN examples. I wanted one from the first gun rag advert I saw for it - it's PC Shop $1,199 price put me off - then.

S&W to the rescue. They started making the exact same gun - same grip, even - and selling them by 4/10 - at $1,185 MSRP then... $1,049 now. S&W will swap Eagle boot grips with you until you get some that fit properly, if your original ones don't. Other than starting with a current IL-equipped frame, there is no change in the revolver - all the same features as the original were continued. Well, the Taiwan-made Al & plastic locking PC Shop box was replaced with a US-made grey plastic PC Shop case - and the price went down. I got my first one 4/10 - a second one 10/10 - I love that revolver - much more precise than it's barrel length would suggest. I did finally get a properly fitted Eagle boot grip for my second one - then I decided I needed larger grips!

Just 'settle' for a current production PC627 UDR - you'll love it!

braggin' some here

I've got (and shoot) one of the 1st run guns without the lock. The model number stamped inside the crane area on the frame is 627-PC.

Here's a pic of mine.
