Looking at new S&W revolvers, I found myself liking the looks of the PC 627-5, 8 shot, 5" .357 Mag. There are two listed, one is the "Jerry Miculek" model and the other is "8 Times" which I suppose is the base gun for the former. Comments – Pro/Con? Is the 8-shot lock-work solid or are there issues?

The only other new S&W that tempts me is the 625-8, 5" .45 ACP.

Great choices. I have one of each. I think everyone needs at least one 625. 45ACP and moonclips are a wonder to behold.

The 627 is in a league by itself. I just love the action on them. This is the action that Miculek uses to set the speed records. It is a joy to shoot either one of them.

I suggest, pick up a 627 while you can, if you find a good price. Then you can get a 625 at your liesure.

You WILL enjoy them both,
Bob
