Has anyone shot the Smith & Wesson MP in any caliber?

I have very small hands. Would this be a good gun for someone with small hands?

What do you think about it?

Yes, I shot a full-size 9mm as a rental, which I liked so well that I purchased a 9mm compact (I felt that this would be a more realistic everyday carry gun). One hundred percent perfect functioning, easy trigger system to master, good accuracy, excellent ergonomics ... what's not to like? :) I am desirous of a .45 myself.

How small is very small? I wear - or more precisely, fit into - a men's medium glove. A 9 or .40 (both are on the same frame) with the medium-sized interchangeable backstrap is perfect, and you can put the small one on if you need to go smaller. The .45 ... I will have to qualify that a bit by saying that it is as small as you're going to get in a double-stack .45. Try one on for size first, bearing in mind that the medium backstrap will be the one that is installed on it. The .45 version I handled does fit me well.

My S&W MP9 with the small grip attached feels like a 1911 with thin grips to me, if that's any comparison.

I fondled an MP 45 at a gunshow.it felt awkward to me.The backstrap had a hard lump halfgway down.I think they come with interchangilble backstraps so maybe a different backstrap would have felt better.
